Replacing Sash Cord
The sash cord is a vital part of a sash window. Over many years of use the sash cord will wear and snap. In order for the window to function properly a new cord will need to be fitted.
One of our expert handymen will remove the broken sash cord and fit a new cord leaving your sash window functioning again. All the work is carried out from the interior of the property.
We charge a fixed price based on which cord(s) need to be replaced:

Sash Balance Repairs
Some modern sash windows have spiral spring balances instead of sash cord and weights.These are made up of a plastic tube and a metal torsion spring. Spiral balances do fail over time and need to be replaced in order for the window to function correctly.
Sash spiral balances are made up according to the size and weight of a particular sash and so in order for us to supply a suitable replacement we would need an initial visit to take measurements and order the correct size balances.
Once we have specified the correct balances required we will provide a fixed price quote for the supply and fitting of the replacement sash balances.
On average the supply and fitting of a pair of sash balances for a standard sash window costs £80-£100+vat.
